HOW TO INSTALL
1. Clean the door surface AND the mounting plate with the included alcohol cleaning pad. Let both dry completely ā any dust, grease or moisture will weaken the bond.
2. Peel the red liner from one side of the pad and stick it onto the mounting plate, aligning the keyhole cutout with the lock opening.
3. Peel the second liner, position the plate on the door and press it firmly for 30 seconds. Steady pressure matters more than force.
4. (Optional, for cold doors) Warm the door and the plate slightly with a hair dryer first ā VHB bonds noticeably better above 15 Ā°C / 60 Ā°F.
5. Wait at least 30 minutes before attaching the smart lock. The bond keeps strengthening for 24-72 hours and reaches full strength after about 3 days.
SURFACES IT WORKS ON
ā¢ Wooden doors: smooth, painted or varnished
ā¢ Metal doors: painted or raw metal
ā¢ Plastic and composite doors
ā¢ Glass doors: clean, non-porous
Not suitable for rough, porous, textured or powder-coated surfaces, or for anything with a dirt-repellent coating.
REMOVAL
Warm the pad with a hair dryer and peel slowly with dental floss or fishing line behind the plate. Residue comes off with isopropyl alcohol.
